Press Release
Pentaho OEM Partner AssetWorks Featured as a Best-in-Class SaaS Provider Embedding Pentaho BI
April 18, 2012, — Delivering the future of business analytics, Pentaho Corporation announces a new independent research report focused on the benefits of embedded business intelligence and analytics. In the report, Pentaho OEM partner AssetWorks, a leader in Intelligent Workplace Management℠, is featured as a best-in-class enterprise vendor using Pentaho Embedded BI to deliver broader information visibility, aimed at improving organizational excellence and analytical culture.
Findings from the Aberdeen Group research report “Embedded BI: Boosting Analytical Adoption and Engagement” published in March 2012 and written by Michael Lock, research director and group leader, technology markets, indicate that speed of adoption and the ability to tailor analytical functionality are the top benefits of an embedded approach.
According to Aberdeen Group’s Lock, “The majority of our survey respondents use a hybrid approach where they tailor a pre-built BI package provided and supported by a BI vendor, to meet their needs. While this approach does create integration challenges – which in itself shows the importance of a pluggable BI architecture, companies who choose a hybrid approach vs. a fully home-grown solution are well positioned not only to deliver an easy-to-use analytical tool to their key decision makers, but do so at a substantially reduced burden of IT expertise and time.”
Featured in the report, AssetWorks, a leader in Intelligent Workplace Management℠, embeds Pentaho Business Analytics into its AiM™ IQ product to provide customers with greater access to enterprise data, better peer-to-peer analysis and easy-to-use analytical capabilities for non-technical users such as C-level executives, electricians and plumbers. AiM helps asset- and infrastructure-intensive organizations control capital and operating expenditures, reduce operational complexity, and manage regulatory and policy-driven risk.
“Pentaho Business Analytics is quick to embed and provides almost instantaneous ROI because it is a modern, open and highly extensible platform,” said Randy Walsh, Vice President of Professional Services, AssetWorks. “Pentaho’s attractive visualizations have become a part of our new capital planning and project management module, providing our customers with an enhanced user experience and wider visibility to enterprise data, which our current customers require and gives us a new competitive advantage in our market.”
“It’s great to see that AssetWorks’ implementation of Pentaho Business Analytics meets the best-in-class criteria for embedded BI solutions as described in the Aberdeen report,” said Drew Quinlan, director of sales, OEM/ISV, at Pentaho. “The Pentaho Business Analytics platform is designed specifically to be quick, easy and affordable to embed so ISVs and cloud/SaaS providers can use Pentaho to drive incremental revenue, create competitive differentiation, and increase their overall strategic value as an enterprise software vendor.”
